About

For the past 15 years my Photography has focused on the Travel Industry. My special area of interest has been Southeast Asia, with yearly trips to Thailand, Cambodia, Burma, Laos, India, China, and Bali. The cultures in these countries have long fascinated me and I have spent considerable time recording their customs, festivals, ruins and landscapes. I confess that I am also drawn to the adventure to be found in visiting the more remote places. The lack of creature comforts is a small price to pay for the privilege of witnessing ways of life completely alien to Western culture.

Here at home in the states I am equally comfortable photographing people, architecture and street life, but my special love is the car culture. It is so uniquely American, and I suppose it recalls a place in time that is imbued with nostalgia. I have been working on a series called: Wrecks and Relics which examines the automobile as both abandoned artifact and museum piece.

With the advent of digital photography I have embraced the creative possibilities of camera and computer to create visual commentaries about the way I see the world. When I work with a client, I do not consider it an assignment, but an artistic endeavor that will transcend date and time.

My work is focused on the photographic art market. I specialize in HDR (High Dynamic Range) and have special expertise in Adobe Photoshop. Both of these methods, and my fine arts background, render my work highly illustrative and dramatically different.

My commercial subject matter is primarily focused on “the car culture” (classic vintage and modern sports) however I also capture other mechanical objects such as trains and airplanes. I take special pleasure in the decadent and worn products of industrial and architectural production and the stories they tell about their owners and the human experience in general. My fine art photography also includes landscapes, architecture, travel and portraiture.
I am a prize winning photographer and have been shown widely around the world including the entire US. New Zealand and Europe. My work has been featured at car shows and has even been made into puzzles.
I continue my pursuit of excellence through memberships in the National Association of Photoshop Professionals, Professional Photographers of America and Women Photographers of California.
